Top Ten Graphic Novels on my TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish. Each week they suggest a theme, usually bookish related, and invite bloggers to join in. This week is Ten Graphic Novels on my TBR. I was SO EXCITED to participate this week because I’m fairly new to graphic novels and there are a lot on my wish list. Here are the ten I’m most excited to get my hands on.

There is absolutely no question, I am extremely excited to get this Lunar Chronicles graphic novel in my hands. I’ve been addicted to the series for some time now. I own them in hardcover (SIGNED thanks to Brittany at The Book Addicts Guide) and audio and I’m probably going to start picking up the paperbacks as well. I love this series.

I’ve read this book and listened to the audio and I love them both, so what not add the graphic novel to my collection? Plus the illustrations look so cool!

The first time I read the Outlander series was in 1997, I did a re-read and catch up in 2010 but I’ve never even seen this beauty in real life, I am going to have to change that. I am most interested in Jamie’s POV. Who knows it might spark another re-read!

I’ve heard so many good things about this one and the illustrations are supposed to be gorgeous so I must add it to my collection.

When I started reading graphic novels and asking for recommendations this is one everyone told me to read, so I must!

Joe Hill, enough said right!? PLUS a super creepy mansion with doors that transport you places and a monster who lives inside, all from the mind of Joe Hill. DONE. SIGN ME UP!

I have yet to read the Legend series (though I own them all) but I really want to read this graphic novel too. They all sound so amazing.

Fables is another one that everyone told me to read. I love fairytale retelling and this one has all the fairytale characters living in exile in NYC-I am totally curious about this!

I was gifted Gloomcookie by the lovely Kristen over at The Book Monsters and I totally fell in love. I must have more!

Another recommendation from Kristen. A mysterious plague wipes out all the Y chromosome carriers on earth except one…yeah I need read this.

I am so in love with Gloomcookie! I need more in my life! I’m thinking a trip to the comic book store needs to happen soon!

  2. Mariela

OMG! I need to get The Exile!
I did not do a list today for myself, I asked my daughter if she wanted to help and list her favorite books!
I never read a comic book.So The only ones I read were the VA and Percy Jackson graphic novels. But we did something a little different. Allyson added some comics she read on her list.

  3. I’m dyinnnnng to read Monstress. Like you, I’ve heard EXCELLENT things about it. If that cover image is any indication, then I’m 100% sure I’ll enjoy it. Have you read SAGA by Fiona Staples & Brian K. Vaughn? So, SO good. Completely binge-read worthy, and just all-round amazing! I love that series to bits.

I haven’t read Saga YET…but I do know they (and Monstress) are on sale at B&N so I might have to buy them all! lol

Wires and Nerve is definitely a good place to start! Reading it made me want to re-read the series all over again! I started with Ms. Marvel and other superheroes then graduated to other less known stuff. I’m pretty addicted to them.

  4. Y: The Last Man is fantastic. Brian K. Vaughan went on to write Saga, which is also amazing, so I highly recommend both. Do stick with Y- some of the issues are much stronger than others, and there are times where the payoff from a frustrating theme doesn’t happen within the same issue…but it DOES eventually happen.
